STAR WARS Zero Company — Official Gameplay Trailer

STAR WARS Zero Company is a single-player, turn-based tactics game set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. You play Hawks, a disgraced former Republic officer who assembles a ragtag company of mercenaries — clones, scoundrels, droids, a Mandalorian and a Jedi — and leads them through a shadow war. This page collects everything currently confirmed, and we update it as new details land.

Release date and platforms

Zero Company launches on August 27, 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A Standard and a Deluxe edition are available, and pre-orders include a Crystalline Astromech cosmetic pack. Full details are in our release date guide.

Who’s making it

The game is developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, published by Electronic Arts. Bit Reactor was founded in 2021 by Greg Foertsch, who spent two decades at Firaxis as art director on the modern XCOM series — and that lineage is obvious in the cover, accuracy and cinematic kill cams. The original score is by GRAMMY-winning composer Gordy Haab.

The story and setting

Set in 20 BBY, the campaign casts you as the leader of Zero Company, recruited for an operation against an emerging threat: Kundri Fathom, leader of the Separatist-aligned Infinite Coil cult. Previews have compared the game’s character focus to Mass Effect — a cast of authored operatives, including Hawks’ clone war buddy Trick, the Jedi Padawan Tel-Rea Vokoss and the Mandalorian Cly Kullervo, whom you bond with over the campaign. More in our story and setting guide.

How it plays

Combat is classic turn-based tactics with a Star Wars twist:

  • Squads of four, each operative with three action points per turn, where movement costs AP.
  • A cover and flanking system that determines hit chance.
  • A shared Advantage resource you build by damaging enemies and spend on big abilities.
  • Force powers and synergies — like pulling an enemy out of cover into a squadmate’s fire.
  • Permadeath: operatives grow over the campaign but can be lost for good.

Between missions you return to the Den, your base of operations, to recruit, heal, upgrade and choose your next mission from a holo-map of 150+ planets.

Classes and customisation

There are twelve classes — eight standard archetypes (Assault, Heavy, Sharpshooter, Scoundrel, Soldier, Gunslinger, Scout, Medic) and four exotic classes (Astromech, Jedi Padawan, Mandalorian Warrior and one more) restricted to droids or story characters. You also recruit and create custom operators from a range of species. See our full class guide.

What we’re still waiting on

The full mission list, the exact final species count, detailed ability kits and the fourth exotic class haven’t been fully detailed. We mark anything unconfirmed as expected and revise these pages as Bit Reactor reveals more ahead of launch.
