Zero Company Story & Setting — The Clone Wars Shadow War

The story and setting of STAR WARS Zero Company — who Hawks is, what Zero Company fights for, the Infinite Coil threat, and how the campaign sits within the Clone Wars in 20 BBY.

STAR WARS Zero Company tells an original story set during the twilight of the Clone Wars, in 20 BBY. It’s a tale told from the war’s margins — not the famous battles of the Jedi and the clone army, but the shadow operations a disgraced officer and a band of outsiders take on when no one else will.

Who is Hawks?

You play Hawks, a customisable former officer of the Galactic Republic who has fallen from grace. Cut loose, Hawks assembles Zero Company — an unconventional team of hired operatives — and takes the kind of work that exists off the official record. Hawks is the constant of the campaign, present in every story mission and at the centre of the squad’s relationships.

The company

Zero Company is deliberately a band of misfits drawn from across the galaxy: clones, scoundrels, droids, a Mandalorian and a Jedi. Named operatives revealed so far include the clone trooper Trick, the Jedi Padawan Tel-Rea Vokoss, the Mandalorian Cly Kullervo of Clan Verminoth, and the scoundrel Luco Bronc. Previews have likened the cast and its relationships to Mass Effect, and the bonds they form are central to both story and gameplay.

The threat

The company is recruited for an operation against an emerging danger: Kundri Fathom, leader of the Separatist-aligned Infinite Coil cult. A cult, rather than a conventional droid army, promises a more personal and unsettling antagonist — and a fittingly murky enemy for a war fought in shadow.

The wider war

Although Zero Company operates at the edges, the broader Clone Wars is always present. The Den’s Galactic News surfaces events of 20 BBY, and the holo-map of 150+ planets places your missions within a galaxy in flames. The result is a personal story about a found family of soldiers, set against one of Star Wars’ most defining conflicts.

This guide will grow as more of the campaign’s plot is revealed ahead of the August 27, 2026 launch.
