The Jedi's Exotic Weapon

The lightsaber in STAR WARS Zero Company is an exotic weapon tied to the Jedi Padawan — a melee armament paired with Force abilities that reposition enemies and deflect blaster fire.

An elegant weapon for a war without mercy.

No weapon is more iconic to Star Wars than the lightsaber, and in STAR WARS Zero Company it’s treated with the reverence it deserves — not as a weapon any operative can pick up, but as an exotic armament tied to the Force itself.

What the lightsaber does best

A lightsaber is a melee weapon, but it isn’t just a melee weapon. Carried by a Force user, it comes packaged with the abilities that make the Jedi Padawan so dangerous on the tactics board — most notably the power to pull an enemy out of cover and into a squadmate’s line of fire. That fusion of a devastating close-quarters blade and battlefield-reshaping Force synergies is what sets it apart from an ordinary melee weapon.

In a game where cover determines hit chance, a weapon that can simply remove an enemy’s cover — and then cut them down at the resulting opening — is among the most powerful tools in the squad.

Who wields it

The lightsaber is restricted to the Jedi Padawan, the exotic class tied to the story character Tel-Rea Vokoss. You don’t equip it on a recruit; you field it by deploying her. That exclusivity is deliberate — it keeps the weapon special and ties it to the moral weight a Jedi brings to a company of mercenaries.

Loadout thinking

Build the turn around the Jedi, not the other way round. Use the Force to set up a target — reposition it, strip its cover — then convert with the saber or hand the kill to a Sharpshooter or Assault. Because the class is a setup engine as much as a damage dealer, its lightsaber is at its best as the spark that starts a synergy chain, fuelling the squad’s Advantage pool in the process.

What we don’t know yet

Whether the lightsaber includes blaster-deflection, specific Force-power pairings or upgrade options hasn’t been fully confirmed. We profile it here based on what previews have shown and will update as Bit Reactor details the Jedi kit ahead of the August 27, 2026 launch.
