Open Ground & Long Lines

Desert worlds in STAR WARS Zero Company strip away cover and open up long sightlines — exposed battlefields that reward marksmanship, positioning discipline and smart use of what little cover exists.

Out here there's nowhere to hide. So don't be seen.

Few settings are more iconic to Star Wars than a sun-scorched desert world, and across a galaxy of 150+ planets, Zero Company’s shadow war will cross its share of open ground. Desert theatres flip the urban formula: cover is scarce, and sightlines run long.

Fighting in the open

With little to hide behind, positioning discipline becomes everything. Long lines of sight favour a Sharpshooter who can threaten the whole field and a Heavy who can hold the few pieces of cover that exist. The danger is exposure — an operative caught crossing open sand between turns is desperately vulnerable, so movement has to be planned around the next safe position, not just the objective.

Building for desert missions

Bring range and durability, and treat every stretch of open ground as a permadeath risk to be minimised. Smoke, suppression and a Scout to find the safest route all earn their place. The squads that survive the desert are the ones that never move an operative they can’t cover.

This is a representative theatre profile. The specific desert worlds in Zero Company’s campaign haven’t been confirmed; we’ll add named planets as they’re revealed.
