Droids are part of the squad in STAR WARS Zero Company, and they’re some of its most charming units. This guide covers how astromechs work, the chassis you can field, and the cosmetics tied to them.

The Astromech class

Droids field via the droid-only Astromech exotic class — a support and utility role focused on tech tricks, repair and battlefield assistance. Crucially, because an astromech is a droid, it fills a support slot without costing you one of your living, bonded operatives — a meaningful edge in a game with permadeath.

The droid chassis

Reporting indicates you can choose from several models:

• R2 units — the iconic dome-topped astromech.
• R3 units — a transparent-domed cousin of the R2 line.
• R4 units — a sturdier agromech-style chassis.
• BR-1 — a droid created specifically for Zero Company, rather than pulled from existing lore.

The variety is mostly about personality and presentation, letting you give your droid a distinct look in the squad.

Pre-order cosmetics

If you pre-order, the Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack is included for all editions: an R3 droid, translucent astromech heads for the R4 and R5 variants, and a BR-1 droid. It’s a thematic bonus if you plan to run a droid in your roster.
