Astromech
Droid Support Specialist
The Astromech is an exotic class exclusive to droid units in Zero Company — a versatile support specialist offering utility, repair and tech tricks, with R4, R2, R3 and the new BR-1 chassis to choose from.
Beeps you can trust your life to.
Not every member of Zero Company breathes. The Astromech is one of the game’s four exotic classes — restricted to droid units rather than the standard recruits — and it brings a distinct flavour of support and utility to the squad. If you’ve ever wanted a loyal little astromech rolling into a firefight beside your operatives, this is it.
How the Astromech plays
The Astromech occupies a support and utility niche: tech-focused tricks, repairs and battlefield assistance that keep the squad functioning. Crucially, because it’s a droid, it fills a support seat without costing you one of your trained, bonded operatives — a meaningful consideration in a game where living squadmates can be lost permanently.
Players can choose from several droid models — reported to include R4, R2, R3 and a new BR-1 unit created specifically for Zero Company — so the class also carries some of the game’s most charming customisation. Pre-order bonuses even include a Crystalline Astromech cosmetic pack with translucent droid heads.
Who should pick it
The Astromech is for players who like a utility-and-support playstyle and the personality a droid brings to the squad. As an exotic class it can’t be assigned to ordinary recruits — you field it by bringing a droid unit into Zero Company — but it slots neatly into a roster that wants support without sacrificing a person to provide it.
Treat this page as a working profile: exact Astromech abilities may be refined before the August 27, 2026 launch, and we’ll update as the droid kit is detailed.
